SMAC Summer School 2024 – Innovation and Tradition.
From July 22 to August 3, 2024, the SMAC Summer School offers a unique program focused on large-scale 3D printing using natural and local circular materials.
Cultural discovery and local traditions: The summer school begins with a visit to the “Museo della Figurina” and the historic art school in Coreglia Antelminelli. Participants will explore ancient local manufacturing techniques, laying the groundwork for understanding the integration of tradition with modern technology.
Expert-led lectures: Each morning features lectures by renowned university professors and industry professionals, covering key topics in 3D printing and sustainability.
Hands-on activities: Afternoons are dedicated to design and 3D printing, allowing participants to apply their theoretical knowledge with a focus on large-format printing using sustainable materials. A highlight will be the visit to WASP’s headquarters, where participants will get hands-on experience with the “Crane” printer, a leader in large-scale 3D printing.
Closing and recognition: The program culminates on August 3 with an Open School Day, during which participants will showcase their projects. The event concludes with the presentation of SMAC certificates, recognizing the effort and skills acquired throughout the course.
